Rancho Santa Fe, CA, June 6, 2010----Jammin Under the Stars was held at the private residence of Ginger and David Levy on Friday, June 4, 2010, to benefit the Jammer Family Foundation. The event was organized by San Diego Charger Quentin Jammer and his wife Alicia, Maria Barry, Jolane Crawford and Ginger Levy. The event was catered by Jeffery Strauss of Pamplemousse Grille and included silent and live auctions and an opportunity drawing. Guests mingled with members of the San Diego Chargers football team and the Charger Cheerleaders in support of programs that empower San Pasqual Academy, the first in the nation residential education campus for foster teens. Event sponsors included Le Dimora, Jet Methods, Jimmy Choo, Coast Highway Photography, Milton’s, Delicias, Barry Estates, and Bank of America:Sean Barry Team among others.
This evening’s contributions will directly impact San Pasqual Academy through the Jammer Family Foundation. According to Alicia Jammer, “Quentin and I are deeply grateful for everyone who participated in this event, their contributions will enable us to advance the mission of our foundation and support programs that aid disadvantaged youth. The Levy’s beautiful home lent itself to the benevolent atmosphere that prevailed and it was particularly heartwarming to have several of Quentin’s teammates in attendance.” The Jammers were introduced to the foster teens of San Pasqual Academy several years ago and have been instrumental in providing academic scholarships, Thanksgiving and Christmas programs, group outings to Charger games, one-on-one mentoring in addition to the construction of a home football field.
Quentin and his wife Alicia devote much of their time and talent to their nonprofit organization. Their philosophy embraces the belief that all children should be given the same opportunity to excel in athletics as well as academics, regardless of their resources. Their ultimate goal is to establish a solid support system to develop young leaders that will sustain a prosperous community. The Jammer Family Foundation engages in a wide variety of worthy causes in the San Diego community, including Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), United Way, and the Boys and Girls Club.
